Woman of mystery

Woman of mystery

While checking out of the grocery store, you spot a beautiful, mysterious woman.  Though she tries to disguise herself, the car she gets into reveals intimate details about her life. She has an honor student at Jones Creek Middle School. Her family, courtesy of the stick figure line-up on the back window, consists of a husband, two older boys, one young girl, and an infant, plus two dogs and a cat. The tennis ball magnet on her gas cap tells you she’s a player. From the rearview, a mystic crystal hangs and catches the light.

Who is this suburban woman, and why is she trying to remain mysterious? Write her story today.

Stand out in a crowd.

Stand out in a crowd.

Everyone is an individual, and it’s no doubt that we’re all different.

Have you identified your own special gift? Is it the way you draw, or the way you sing in perfect harmony in the shower? Is it the tenderness you always show the elderly, or the way you really play with kids? Maybe your unique trait is the ability to do handstands while singing “The Star-Spangled Banner?”  Maybe it’s something more simple and you can flip a quarter from knuckle to knuckle without skipping a beat?

Take a moment to think about and appreciate your unique gifts. What makes you you? And once you understand your special qualities, ask yourself what can you do to make those gifts even more special?

It’s a phrase that runs through our head when stress creeps in and rears its feisty head and makes everything in your life feel like it’s spinning out of control. I often find myself saying “this too shall pass.” Individual moments of stress may […]

This shot is one of my favorites. What a cool effect! It’s called Solarize. I love […]

Winter watching

February 14, 2014

Snow. Ice. More snow. Traffic. More ice. This seems to be the running refrain here lately in Atlanta, where Arctic-like temps and an abundance of northern-like weather has deposited plenty of the aforementioned snow and ice on our fair city. So what’s a writer to do but play, make pizza, and dream up new stories! […]
